$100,000 for demining the Chornobyl zone: UNITED24 and GSC Game World launch joint fundraiser

UNITED24, together with GSC Game World, the studio of Ukrainian entrepreneur Maksym Krippa, announced a charity raffle. Participants will have a chance to win rare collectibles created within the framework of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 × UNITED24 collaboration.

The goal of the campaign is to raise $100,000 for the Humanitarian Demining direction of the UNITED24 platform.

The funds raised will be used to clear the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone of mines and other explosive devices left after the Russian occupation.

Why demining the Chprnobyl zone is an important task

At the beginning of the full-scale war, Russian troops occupied the Chornobyl NPP and the Chornobyl zone. After the territory was liberated, mines and other explosive objects were discovered there. They pose a danger to workers in the zone and hinder scientific and environmental work. Mined areas can also complicate the rapid response to emergencies, including forest fires.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Environment of Ukraine Ihor Bezkaravayny stressed that demining the Chornobyl zone is primarily necessary for the safety of scientists and energy workers. A separate task is to create safe routes for fire and rescue teams so that they can respond faster to fires without the risk of encountering mines.

Director of the Humanitarian Demining Center Volodymyr Bayda noted that after the Chornobyl accident, the exclusion zone received another threat due to mining during the full-scale war. According to him, initiatives such as the UNITED24 and GSC Game World campaign help attract resources for the safe cleaning of Ukrainian territories.

GSC Game World emphasized that Chornobyl holds a special place in the studio’s universe. For the team, it is not just a location or part of the plot, but an important element of the Ukrainian cultural code and identity.

In conditions of war, the developers strive to direct their creativity to real assistance to Ukraine, so the joint project with UNITED24 to demine the Chornobyl zone has a special symbolic meaning for the studio. GSC Game World also noted the positive experience of previous cooperation with UNITED24 and emphasized that they want to see the danger only in the game, while the real Ukrainian land should become safe as soon as possible.

What is being raffled as part of the campaign

UNITED24 and GSC Game World’s joint fundraiser is aimed at humanitarian demining of the Chornobyl zone. All donations will be used to clear the area of mines and other explosives.
