The French organization 3DMAX is facing serious financial difficulties. The club’s CEO revealed the extent of the problem: the total amount of debt has already exceeded €1.5 million.
Financial obligations have accumulated toward various project participants—from players and the coaching staff to partners responsible for communications, business development, and merchandising.
At the same time, problems outside the server aren’t forcing the team to give up competitive play. 3DMAX has a packed schedule ahead in the coming months: in September, the team is set to compete in two LAN tournaments, and in October, it may potentially participate in three more. The fight for a spot in the next Major remains a key motivator.
However, participating in these competitions requires significant expenses. Due to a lack of funds, the organization is already seeking financial support for upcoming trips and is calling on anyone willing to help the team.
“The news is terrible… But I’m not going to sit idly by,” said the CEO of 3DMAX.
3DMAX Is Looking for a Way Out of the Financial Crisis
Another possible solution could be to transfer the CS2 project to another organization. A representative from 3DMAX reached out to esports clubs that could integrate the team into their structure. According to him, this roster has the potential to compete for a spot in the Major, so finding a new partner could be one way to keep the project alive.
“If you can help us fund LAN trips or represent an organization interested in bringing on a CS2 team capable of competing for a spot in a Major, please don’t hesitate to contact me.”
Despite the financial crisis, the club’s management has no intention of leaving its employees without support. The CEO noted that the players, coaches, and partners deserve better conditions, and promised to continue supporting them both morally and financially.
