Reports circulating online regarding the sale of Electronic Arts have been officially confirmed. The company announced the completion of the deal to sell EA to a consortium comprising the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), the investment firm Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners.
EA stated that the new partnership should help the company accelerate the development of creative initiatives and innovation, as well as shape the future of the entertainment industry. The consortium, in turn, will provide EA with long-term capital, industry expertise, and strategic support for the company’s continued growth.
EA has completed the deal and is delisting from the NASDAQ
Electronic Arts has officially completed the acquisition of the consortium. The publisher announced the completion of the deal after it was approved by EA shareholders at a special meeting on December 22, 2025. The parties had initially announced the agreement on September 29, 2025, and the company announced the final sale a few days ago.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated that this new phase in the company’s development will provide an opportunity for larger-scale investments, accelerated innovation, and the creation of new game projects for millions of players around the world.
PIF noted that the fund has been a minority investor in Electronic Arts for over five years and is well acquainted with the company’s business model, as well as its sports and gaming franchises. According to fund representative Turki Alnowaiser, the consortium aims to become a long-term partner of EA and support the company’s continued growth.
Silver Lake CEO Egon Durban emphasized that EA owns some of the most famous franchises in the global entertainment industry, and the new partnership will allow for additional investment in the company’s development, particularly in the use of artificial intelligence to enhance game development and the gaming experience.
Jared Kushner, Head of Affinity Partners, added that EA has created vast gaming universes and communities that bring together hundreds of millions of people, and the company will continue to expand opportunities for players and developers.
Upon completion of the transaction, Electronic Arts shareholders will receive $210 per share. EA’s common stock will no longer be traded on the NASDAQ and will be delisted.
