Former Monte Bymas player publicly stated that he had experienced financial difficulties while playing for the organization. According to him, the club owes him unpaid wages, and delays in payment have been a recurring problem.
The Lithuanian player, who joined Luminosity in early July after a year with Monte, claims that he has still not been paid tens of thousands of dollars. This includes part of his salary, prize money, and bonuses, as well as a share of the proceeds from the sale of the team’s stickers from the IEM Cologne Major.
Bymas also noted that this situation allegedly affects more than just him. According to him, several former Monte players and a former coach are also owed significant sums.
The player’s statement came shortly after Monte released a video in which the organization’s CEO, Dmytro Vovk, criticized Bymas, afro, and AZUWU—as well as their agents—for transferring to Luminosity. He claimed that the players had concealed their negotiations with the new organization from Monte and Gizmy while contract renewal talks were still ongoing.
In response to Bymas’s comments, Monte stated that the salary delay lasted two weeks and called the claim about “tens of thousands of dollars” untrue. The organization also noted that some of the delays were due to late transfer and sponsorship payments, about which the players were allegedly informed.
Bymas himself called the delays a systemic problem that caused the team to lose confidence in the organization. According to him, extending the contract would mean taking on new obligations to the club without any assurance of stable payments or the long-term stability of the roster.
At the same time, former Monte player kRaSnaL stated that he personally had not encountered such difficulties. During a livestream, he said that the organization had paid him every last dollar. Amid these conflicting statements, the community is waiting for the parties to provide evidence regarding the financial claims.
